HARPER MASONRY-Milo, Sr., started in the masonry business in 1937 in Des Moines, Iowa. He spent the next 40 years in the trade laying brick, block and stone. He moved to Missouri and later to Montana where he passed away in 1986. At one time, there was as many as six Harper relatives working in the trade.
Milo, Jr., entered the field in January 1961 following his discharge from the service. He worked with Milo, Sr., and later became the foreman for various contractors in Des Moines. His projects ranged from fire stations and hospitals to schools and office buildings. In 1972, he moved to Billings, Montana, where he started his own business, working on small commercial and residential projects. He retired in 2009.
Kevin spent many summers as a labor for his dad before entering the trade in 1979 following his high school graduation. They worked together, eventually became partners in the business.
The Harper name carries a long tradition of quality brick, block, and stone work.
SCHWARZ BROTHERS MASONRY-Taylor and Tanner Schwartz were raised in Glendive, MT, and came to Billings, MT to attend college. They are twins and both graduated from Rocky Mountain College. They started working for Kevin in 2016 during college and soon developed a love for the trade; they started working full time following graduation. In January 2023, they purchased Harper Masonry and Kevin is working towards retirement.
